GET:MEAN OR GET:LEAN
What’s it all about then?
Good question, allow me to explain. My name is Dave Springall and I have been a high level coach, very average bodybuilder once upon a time and PT for as many years as I can remember,
seventeen actually now I think. During my time in the fitness industry I have operated mainly under a traditional 1-2-1, face to face style of training on an hourly basis. It’s served me well and I’m proud to say that I have helped many, many people over the years absolutely crush their goals. It’s just something I love to do, and I’m damn good at it.
But, there is now a problem. I just can’t help enough people using this model. As much as my private studio which is now in it’s fourth year is great and always busy I still need to reach out and help more people around world and here is why:
The internet, and social media in particular has seen an explosion of so called ‘fitness experts’ over the last few years especially and in short the BS that I have been listening spill out of these ‘coaches’ mouths on almost an hourly basis does nothing less than make my blood boil. Poorly qualified, teenaged, inexperienced marketeers preying on people who are often, miserable, depressed and desperate because of they way they look and feel. These people are vulnerable to say least and easy to sell this BS to with very little effort. Chances are you may be one of these people yourself and know exactly where I’m coming from.
On top of that we have the usual array of conflicting and very confusing ‘information’ on diets and nutrition and that’s almost as bad, usually just idiots trying to sell you there latest fad and make a quick buck.
As you can see unlike many of the modern internet ‘gurus’ I prefer to walk the walk as well as talk the talk. I love to GET:MEAN every single day!
For many years I have just been quiet, sat back, watched, laughed to myself, shrugged it all off and just continued to help my 1-2-1 clients who live close enough to my facility to surpass everything they set out to do with ease. But enough is now enough. I’m sick of being quiet and watching people who really need help get pretty much victimised and robbed by these clowns on a daily basis. I’m shouting too now and shouting loud. If you haven’t already check out my videos on the FB page and you will see what I’m about. The fitness industry is flawed. Massively, and I’m here to show you what you really need to do and more importantly how you need to think. If there is bullshit flying around designed to con you then rest assured there will be a response from me calling them out and showing them up for what they really are! No more Mr Nice guy!
I don’t care what you have been told. Getting in shape is VERY EASY. It’s not technical and it doesn’t require half of the crap these ‘experts’ would like to have you believe. Trust me, I’ve been at this a long, long time. Just a strong mindset, the right advice at the right time and a large helping of consistency and application and you are pretty much home and dry.
So, back on subject. What’s the whole GET:MEAN GET:LEAN thing all about then? Well, by my reckoning 98% of the fitness industry today is made up of two types of people. The skinny and slightly built folk who feel weak and small and wish they were larger and of course their counter parts the overweight or larger people who wish they were smaller. So correct me if I’m wrong but most people either want to GET:MEAN or GET:LEAN. Of course both of these goals rely on VERY different coaching approaches and programming requirements as I’m sure you can imagine and it’s something I know way more about than most and that’s a promise.
Now I know, being one of the GET:MEAN brigade as a kid (I was a pathetic little weakling at one point too you know who went on to compete at the Mr Britain finals and nearly doubled his bodyweight at one time) I understand that regardless of which type of person you are that odds on you are unhappy with the current state of play and you really need some help. Some proper help. Help from someone who won’t sugar coat things, lie to you or try and sell you crappo supplements, discount codes and shitty branded clothing that you really don’t need. I work 6 days per week until 8-9pm almost every night
I sleep as hard as I train
I have degenerative lumbar disc disease, some days I can barely walk
I have Colitis which is medically controlled
My eyesight is shocking
I have no staff
I have no help other than my wife who does what admin she can at the studio for me
I do also train 6-7 days a week, like a caged animal I might add
I train heavy and as hard as I can
I eat at least 6 times per day, and I rarely eat shit
I don't drink
I don't smoke
I don't use drugs
I buy my wife flowers at least twice per month
I walk my dogs
I make time for my children when ever they need me
My kids respect me
I am on top of my calorie intake, at the moment it's a deficit, I ate a few too many cheesecakes…
I'm getting it done
I don't moan
I don't complain
I do what is required
I know how to give myself a good talking to when needed
I live right.
I try and set an example to my family
I love helping others, especially those who’re miserable and unhappy
I don’t just talk the talk, I walk the walk. Every day. Ask anyone
